Rabun Gap is probably most well-known for Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, a private boarding school that began as two schools, Rabun Gap Industrial School, and the Nacoochee Institute. The school served local students as a public school until the late 1970s, when it became exclusively private. The school is rich in history and continues to serve day and boarding students from all over the country and the world. Rabun Gap is home to Osage Farms, a popular stop for vacationers and locals alike. From strawberries in the spring to sweet corn in the summer to pumpkins in the fall and Christmas trees in the winter and everything in between, Osage is a busy working farm. A flea market, a railroad museum, and a plant nursery are other popular destinations in Rabun Gap.
