Tiger Real Estate

Tiger was incorporated in 1904. Legend has it that the name came from a Cherokee Indian Chief, Tiger Tail, but it is more likely that settlers gave it the name because of the screams of mountain lions. Tiger is home to many of the area’s schools. Rabun County High School, Middle School, and Elementary School are all located a short drive from one another. You’ll also find a drive-in movie theater which operates spring through fall and usually shows double features. Tiger is home to hiking trails, mountain bike trails and waterfalls, and an award-winning winery, Tiger Mountain Vineyards. Tiger also has a small shopping district with a salon, dance studio, and gift shop. The Tiger Food Mart is famous throughout the county for its biscuits and burgers. Homes in Tiger range from secluded mountain cottages to antique farm houses and even an assisted living facility. Active seniors will appreciate the senior center, which features a heated indoor swimming pool. Tiger is a convenient stop for homes on Lake Burton.
